EIR, Trinity Ventures
Steven Dupree helps organizations to grow and scale exponentially. He’s currently Entrepreneur in Residence at Trinity Ventures, where he’s digging into the problem of how to structure growth teams and developing best practices for venture-backed startups to build effective, cross-functional growth teams.
Dupree was recently VP, Marketing at SoFi, where he ultimately led growth, acquisition, and product marketing for student loan products. Recruited to lead Marketing in summer 2013 (as one of the first thirty employees), SoFi increased monthly loan volume more than 30x and funded its first $8 billion in loans under Dupree’s tenure. Prior to SoFi, Steven served as VP, Online Marketing and Operations at LogMeIn (NASDAQ: LOGM), a prominent software-as-a-service company, where he oversaw customer acquisition and conversion from startup (employee #5) through IPO. He also launched LogMeIn’s international marketing program from Budapest, Hungary.
Dupree is currently the Program Development Chair for the M.S. in Digital Marketing and Design at Brandeis University, mentors Endeavor Entrepreneurs, the Stanford Venture Studio, and serves on the board of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific. He is advising co-founder to The Catch (www.TheCatch.co), a mobile dating game, and advises several other early-stage companies on customer acquisition. Dupree has an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar, and holds a B.A. in mathematics and economics from Brandeis University. When he’s not working, you will find him hiking, stargazing, writing poetry, or challenging you to a game of Twilight Struggle.
